Hello fellow OZCF volunteers!
Thanks so much for offering your time and expertise (and brute strength)! We’ll be sure to make use of all of the above. Here’s what we’ll be dealing with in the next couple of weeks:
Heritage Day at Homestead Park
As you may know, there’s a day in the park planned for Heritage Day (24 September) where we plan on telling everybody all about us, and we need some people to do the telling! I would love to hear from those of you who will be free on the day and willing to man the table for an hour or two.
The work to be done will involve answering people’s questions about our plans for the farm and helping them sign up for the newsletter and/or as volunteers. The sooner I know people’s availabilities, the sooner I can set up a roster for the day, so please let me know as soon as you do when precisely you would like to be involved at the table.
We might also need some people to chalk out the field — if you’re able-bodied and up for doing it on Sunday 23 September, please let me know.
Information session
I thought it might be nice if those of us who will be involved on the day (and those who might not be, but want to meet other volunteers and/or be a little more clued up about the details) could meet before Heritage Day and go over what types of questions to expect. My suggestion would be to meet at the hall in the park on Saturday 22 September at 17:00 — please let me know if you’re interested!
Here’s something everyone can help with!
If you’ve been talking to your friends about the farm, what have people been asking about? What are you unclear on or interested in knowing more about? I’m working on a list of FAQs but of course the more questions we know how to answer before the time the better, so please send me yours too so that I can be ready with answers for our information session.
If people are too busy to attend the info session as well as help out on Heritage Day, which would be totally understandable, I’ll just send out the FAQs for you to study before the day — the info session would be completely optional.
