Get fit at the Farm
Who needs to pay for gym membership when you can work at OZCF for free…and get tomatoes? Join us this Saturday from 7am to noon. We will be preparing beds for planting, shovelling and spreading compost, planting seeds and chatting lots.
It’s been a great week at OZCF
Since our Call for Support brochure went out this week, we have been the recipient of several donations: 6 people have taken up the offer to memorialise a loved one on an OZCF bench (we still have two benches left), we received support for the pond, and one person even gave a donation to his girlfriend in lieu of Valentines Day and stuck a heart into the compost heap at OZCF. Isn’t that romantic? A resident of Oranjezicht has agreed to pay her gardener to work at OZCF every Tuesday in return for training and another has donated two Olive Trees and one Lemon Tree that were getting too big for their pots.

The number of Facebook likes is rising steadily – over 700 (yay!) and the best news is that we have established an educational programme with the St Cyprians Environmental Club, who are helping OZCF plant seeds and more.
And there’s more…. OZCF met with two professional apiarists who will be bringing us two hives – so we’ll have honey, honey.
But wait, there’s still more
If you can help with the following, we’d be happy:
- Plastic tunnel for growing seedlings – construct our own, or source…or what. We need to get this in place if we’re going to ramp up our pace of planting.
