Dear Friend of the Farm
Cycle to the Farm Saturday!
Call for Support Continues
New Volunteer Co-ordinator Needed!
Our first-ever volunteer co-ordinator, Edith, recently landed a choice internship with the up-and-coming think tank, Future Cape Town and is just revelling in the awesomeness of helping shape the future of the Mother City. Hooray, Edith! So, as we wish her well…we are calling for interested volunteers to step forward to take over and assist us in co-ordinating the volunteer activities that are at the heart of OZCF. From e-mail communications to volunteer recruiting, from helping organize Saturday morning volunteer activities to helping arrange educational opportunities for the volunteers and more, we are hoping to find a dynamic, committed and fun person to join the OZCF team.Does this sound like you, or someone you know? Please contact us so we can talk!
Thank You, New Plant Nursery!
The amazing indigenous nursery, New Plant, has been hugely generous in donating large quantities of buchu, artemesia, helichrysum and leontis, nearly 300 plants in all. This will go a long way toward establishing an indigenous culinary foundation at the Farm, as well as adding to the beauty and resilience of all the plantings. What’s doubly remarkable is that New Plant are based in George, and are bringing everything to OZCF as part of their contribution. Keep your eye out for New Plant’s logo on pots at garden centres all over Cape Town and the Western Cape, and please give them your support. Thank you, New Plant Nursery!
Finally, there is, as always, a lively, fun and informational stream of conversation and idea sharing happening on our OZCF Facebook group, so if you are on Facebook, be sure to ‘like’ the group and take part. We’re fast approaching 1 000 ‘likes’ – will you be the one to push us over the top? Help us get there by spreading the word about OZCF.
Hope to see you on Saturday!
