What is Friends of the Farm?

You can become part of our community of like-minded souls who care about sharing knowledge and are passionate about food and urban farming projects. Friends of the Farm is how we join together all the lovely people who have, or could have, an abiding interest in Oranjezicht City Farm and the other social urban agriculture projects we support. It’s a club, an awareness campaign, a fund-raising drive and an educational project all rolled into one.

What do you get?

Friends of the Farm get to be official supporters of a unique project that already makes a huge difference to thousands of lives – and plans to take over the world! Well, not really, but we do have some rather large plans for the future as we pursue our educational non-profit mission. In practical terms, Friends of the Farm are the first to know about everything from insider knowledge of what’s going into or coming out of the ground to exclusive harvest rights and early-bird alerts for the once-off moments happening on the farm. Like say, when the first broad beans are ready to be picked or having first dibs on tickets for inspirational workshops or events. We will also announce special discounts for Friends throughout the year.

How do you sign up?

In exchange for an annual donation of R250, you will get an invitation to join either a private Instagram or Facebook group where all the Friends of the Farm connect. We will also add you to our Friends-only e-mailing list. You can opt out at any time. After a year we will send you a reminder to renew. Easy-peasy.
