Kids can spend an awesome week hands-on with craft, immersed in the outdoors! This unique 4-day holiday camp is great for kids aged 5-12, with activities geared for each age and level of experience.
Dates: Monday 9 – Thursday 12 December 2019
Time: 08h30 for 09h00 – 12h30 each day
Day 1: Storytelling. We’ll be reading stories and painting our own versions of the tale afterwards. Children will be guided through painting characters and scenes in their unique and creative way.
Day 2: Nature Printing: Children will discover the way in which we can use nature as our art materials. We’ll be making stamps out of vegetables to make wrapping paper and cards, fabric painting with leaves, and making flower crowns.
Day 3: Festive Day: We will be making holiday stockings [or pockets, if we don’t want to use a Christmas stocking] for children to put their special things in. Learners will be taught how to decorate and sew their own felt and fabric creation, as well as pompom garlands.
Day 4: Sewing and Sushi: We’ll guide the children through creating their own cross-stitch project. We will also be making our own sushi, with fresh vegetarian ingredients, followed by a feast.
Instructors: Andie Reeves and Keren Setton. Andie is a Montessori-trained teacher and textile artist, works with children every day and is particularly passionate about teaching them how to use their hands to express themselves creatively. Keren is a graduate of Michaelis School of Fine Art and works as a freelance embroidery artist. She loves helping children open up their creative potential and have fun.
