Be sharp and brush up! This workshop for intermediate and advanced artists will concentrate on the use of mark-making and drybrushing to create detail and visual texture in a watercolour painting. Some experience in watercolour painting is recommended and advanced students are welcome.

Materials needed: Sketching Paper; HB pencil; Sheet of 300g Hot Press Arches Watercolour Paper; Winsor & newton / Daniel Smith or similar quality watercolour paints in following colours: Lemon Yellow, Winsor Blue(red shade) / French Ultramarine Blue, Permanent Rose; Nr 4 and Nr 2 sable round watercolour brush.
Award-winning botanical artist, Willie Schlechter, studied Fine Art at Stellenbosch University, graduating with a Masters in Illustration in 2008. After enjoying a career as a high school art teacher, Willie has turned his attention to full-time painting and teaching botanical art workshops privately. His attention to detail and realism has won him awards at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Biennale, the World Orchid Conference and Bottalia, Painted Flora Lucca.
