LETTERING AS JOURNALLING with LEESETTE TURNER at OZCF

This workshop will give you many ideas on how to incorporate lettering and detail into your journalling and help you to face a blank page with confidence. We will make at least 4 new pages for your journal and you will leave with further techniques and ideas that you can apply going forward on your own. Beginners are encouraged to take the basic creative journalling workshop first, but it is not a requirement – all levels are welcome. Come and enjoy a fun morning in the world’s most beautiful studio! Soak up the surroundings and let them inspire you.
- Pen, pencil, ruler
- Black fineliner
- Your journal or loose pages preferably a good weight of water colour paper
- Journalling materials you already use – brush pens, koki’s watercolours
- Washi tape that fits in with your colour scheme (optional)
- Watercolours and a pointed brush
ABOUT LEESETTE TURNER
Leesette Turner is a contemporary text artist based in Cape Town. Leesette has practiced calligraphy for 20 years, studying Western, Eastern and African scripts. Her special interests include quality of line, text as image, mark marking and their role in text art. Leesette has studied with many international calligraphers both locally and abroad. She has exhibited locally and internationally and her works are in both public and private collections.
