Why settle for store-bought when you can grow your own delicious, fresh produce? Our allotment rentals, typically 6m² but ranging from 2 to 8m², allow you to enjoy the benefits of gardening, from planting seeds to harvesting healthy vegetables and herbs. All pricing is based on the standard 6m² size, with costs pro-rated for larger or smaller plots. Allotment holders have daily access to their plots through a convenient lock box with keys. Each allotment rental includes bed preparation, seasonal seeds and seedlings, trellises and stakes, pest protection netting, and organic fertilizers. Basic irrigation is not provided, and the option for full watering services is at an additional cost. You’ll also receive practical mentoring to help you learn about soil health, pest management, and watering. A personalized slate marker is provided to make your plot uniquely yours. Join our community of like-minded gardeners, cultivate friendships, and share gardening tips. It’s time to relax, reconnect with nature, and enjoy your labour’s fruits (and veggies) in our tranquil, shared garden spaces.

Volunteer with us
OZCF was founded by volunteers, and this ethos lies at the core of everything we do. Our board members are volunteers, and any active volunteer can have a say in the decisions of the farm. Volunteering at OZCF offers numerous benefits, from making friends and gaining skills to building confidence and contributing to a healthier, more just food system in Cape Town and beyond. To start volunteering, simply complete the volunteer information form, and you will be contacted to attend an orientation session. From there, you can dive into areas of interest such as education, farming, community outreach, events, administration, and more. If you have any questions, feel free to email our volunteer coordinator at volunteer@ozcf.co.za.
